Baba Basukinath Dham, Dumka
Baba Basukinath Dham is located in Jharkhand's Dumka district. It is located approximately 25 kilometers north-west of Dumka along the Deoghar-Dumka state route. It serves as a Hindu pilgrimage site.
According to mythology, Basuki, the serpent that adorns Mahadev's neck, and other Nagas from Nagaloka made sacrifices to Mahadev at the Sagar Manthan at this location. So Mahadev is established as the lord of Basuki, and therefore Basukinath, along with Goddess Parvati. It is thought that when visiting Baba Baidyanath Temple, a visit to Basukinath is mandatory.
Baba Basukinath Dham is a serene temple complex with other temples encircling the main structure. One can come personally and enjoy a pleasant darshan of the primary God, including making offerings to the God through touching. Pandas can also be used to conduct poojas. There is a continual threat from pandas and photographers. Be wary of the water and treacherous path that runs along the temple. The famed pedas and pickles are available everywhere. However, pickles are typically served in open containers, raising concerns about hygiene.
