Nandan Pahar, Deoghar
Nandan Pahar is a tiny hill on the outskirts of town that houses a famous Nandi Temple and overlooks the famed Shiv Temple. Nandan Pahar is around 3 kilometers from the Baba Baidyanath Dham station. The hill's numerous temples have exquisite idols of Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh, and Kartik.
The location also has a water tank, which provides filtered water to the entire destination. From this location, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the district, as well as sunrise and sunsets. According to folklore, Ravana once attempted to force his way into Shivadham while Nandi was Lord Shiva's doorkeeper. Nandi stopped him from entering Lord Shiva's premises. Ravana became enraged and threw himself down at this location, thus giving the hill its name.
Aside from the temple, the hill also features a popular park called Nandan Hill Entertainment Park. With swimming and boating facilities, the park is a perfect location for picnics and play grounds. Nandan pahar has a large children's park with a ghost house, a boot house, a mirror house, and a restaurant.
