North Koel River, Latehar

North Koel River Latehar

The North Koel River starts on the Ranchi plateau in Jharkhand and flows into the Sone River a few kilometers northwest of Haidarnagar. The river flows through the northern portion of Betla National Park. The North Koel River's main tributaries are the Auranga and Amanat.

The North Koel River flows from the Palamau Tiger Reserve and is divided into two rivers: the South Koel River and the North Koel River. The river is thought to be fed by three streams from Jharkhand: South Karo, North Karo, and Koina.

The North Koel rises on the Ranchi plateau and flows into Palamau division, below Netarhat near Rud. After flowing nearly due west for about 32 kilometers, it swings north at an almost perfect right angle via a gorge at Kutku and runs through the district's center until falling into the Son a few miles northwest of Haidarnagar.
