Shri Ramrekha Dham, Simdega

Shri Ramrekha Dham Simdega

Shri Ramrekha Dham, located in Simdega district of Jharkhand's southern Chotanagpur division, has been a major center of faith for devotees for centuries. It is said that Lord Shri Ram, Mother Sita, and Lakshman's feet fell here during the Treta Yug period. This location became sacred as a result of their foot dust and became known as Shri Ramrekha Dham throughout time. This holy site is located 28 km west of Simdega district headquarters, on the boundary between Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Shri Ramrekha Dham, located between hundreds of feet high mountain ranges, is equally important not only from a spiritual standpoint, but also from a tourism standpoint.

The lengthy line etched on the roof of the massive cave created beneath the rock is known as Ramrekha. Along with statues of Lord Ram, Laxman, and Mother Sita, this Dham houses statues of other gods and goddesses as well. There are several divine and scenic spots in the Dham grounds that draw devotees, including the fabled Shivaling, black conch, Gupt Ganga, Dhanush Kund in the shape of a bow, Sita Chowka, Sahata Chulha, Agnikund, Ramrekha Baba's Samadhi Sthal, and others.

Shri Ramrekha Dham of Simdega is included in the list of 232 pilgrimage places by the Government of India. Simdega is proud that Shri Ramrekha Dham has been listed in the Government of India's list of 232 pilgrimage sites. This is why, on March 24, 2022, while travelling from Sri Lanka's Ashok Vatika to Ayodhya, the Shri Ram Vanagaman Kavya Yatra Ramrath Chhattisgarh stopped in Jashpur to visit Simdega's Ramrekha Dham. Let us tell you that the Kavya Rath Yatra visited all 232 locations where Lord Rama, brother Laxman, and Mother Sita had set foot during their exile.

Devotees from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Bengal also visit the Ramrekha Dham. Every year, during the Kartik Purnima and Magh Purnima fairs, lakhs of devotees from various districts of Jharkhand, as well as Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Bengal, visit the Dham. Given the popularity of Ramrekha Dham, the state government has also decided to develop it. A ropeway is proposed to be installed on the Ramrekha Dham property. Currently, modest vehicles can reach the summit of the peak.

The devotees consider themselves blessed by visiting the temple located in the holy cave, the main tourist spot of Ramrekha. The holy cave houses the idols of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Janaki and Laxman, Radha-Krishna, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Mata Subhadra, mythical Shivalinga, dark coloured conch, besides Brahmalin Pujya Devraha Baba in the Guru Gaddi, the statue of Brahmalin Pujya Ramrekha Baba, the line drawn by God on the ceiling of the cave, and so on Devotees can also visit the Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple, Garuda Stambh, Gupt Ganga, Dhanush Kund, Sita Chowka, Sita Chulha, Agni Kund, and Samadhi Sthal while at the Ramrekha Dham.
