Topchanchi Lake, Dhanbad
Topchanchi Lake is a popular tourist attraction in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district. It is located on National Highway 2 near the Golden Quadrilateral. Dhanbad Railway Station is 37 kilometers from the lake, while Bokaro is 41 kilometers. Though the lake is manmade, its green surroundings among forests and hills make it a perfect picnic destination.
Topchanchi Lake is particularly in demand for peaceful and relaxing vacations. It encompasses a total of 214 acres. The proximity of Parasnath Hills to the lake encourages travelers to explore both. Topchanchi Lake is essentially a watercourse that has been dammed to serve as a reservoir for water supply to the district and its suburbs. Topchanchi Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 8.75 square kilometers. Although the region is modest, it is home to a few harmless animals. The area surrounding the lake is extremely popular with religious groups, particularly Jains and Hindus.
